Guide
One chord.
That’s the whole product.
Orris is a Windows app, not a browser extension. It types into whatever field is focused — Gmail, Word, Grok, VS Code, chat, the terminal.
Install
- Download Orris.exe. Windows 10 or 11.
- Double-click it. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway. Orris is unsigned until we ship a certificate; it does not need admin.
- The orb sits at the edge of the screen. Hover it for language and settings.
- After this install, Orris updates itself in the background. It never restarts while you are dictating. New code waits until the next quiet launch.
Dictate
- Click the field you want to fill — or leave it focused.
- Hold Right Ctrl + Right Shift until you hear the ping.
- Speak naturally. Fillers and self-corrections get cleaned.
- Release. A higher ping means it inserted.
That chord is unused by Windows, Chrome, and Wispr Flow. Left Ctrl shortcuts stay untouched.

Voice commands
Say these at the end of a take, or with text selected.
Language
Hover the orb and pick two things: the language you speak, and the language it should type. Speak in yours. It types in theirs. Auto-detect is there if you switch mid-day.
Orris ships with 100+ languages — English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi, and the rest of the list in Settings.
Writing modes
Raw leaves the transcript alone. Clean punctuates and capitalizes. Professional, Casual, and Concise restyle. Custom uses the note you leave in Settings.
App-specific styles are on by default: casual in chat, professional in mail, clean in code. Developer mode turns “camel case user name” into userName.
The hub
Open it from the tray icon. History is searchable. Dictionary and snippets live there. Stats show words, streak, and minutes you didn’t spend on keys. If OneDrive is signed in, dictionary and snippets sync to OneDrive\Orris.
Free and members
Free is 30 minutes of listening each day, resetting at midnight on your machine. Members pay $10 a month or $96 a year on this site. After Stripe, click Open in Orris so the app signs into the same account. Cancel any time from Stripe.

Thirty minutes a day is enough to feel the gap.
