The product

Orris is dictation software for Windows. We license it to you; you don’t buy the code. You may install it on machines you own or control for your own use. You may not resell, rent, reverse engineer, or strip the branding to ship it as someone else’s app.

Plans

The free plan listens for 30 minutes each local calendar day and then stops until the next day. Member is $10 per month or $96 per year, billed by Stripe, unlimited listening on that account. Prices are in US dollars. We can change prices for future periods; the period you already paid stays at the rate you paid.

Cancel in Stripe whenever you want. Access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled case by case through support — say so within 14 days of a charge if the app never ran on your machine.

Accounts

You’re responsible for the email and password you set on this site and for keeping the Windows app signed into the account you paid for. Don’t share a member login as a public download key.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Orris to break the law, to attack other systems, or to process other people’s private recordings without a right to do so. Don’t hammer the optional cloud rewrite with automated traffic.

Accuracy

Speech-to-text mishears. Translation is a best effort. You still own what you send. Review anything that matters — legal, medical, financial — before it leaves the box.

Privacy

The privacy page is part of these terms. Default dictation runs on your PC. An xAI key in Settings is optional.

The app as-is

Orris is provided as-is. We don’t promise it will catch every word, work with every obscure control, or never conflict with another overlay. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for lost work, lost profits, or indirect damages. If a court requires a cap, it’s the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $10 if you were on the free plan.

Changes

We may update the app and this page. Continued use after a posted change is agreement to the new terms. If you don’t agree, uninstall and cancel.
