FAQ
Before you download.
Is this a Chrome extension?
No. Orris is a Windows app. It types into whatever is focused — browser, Word, Grok, VS Code, Slack, the terminal. There is nothing to add to Chrome.
What do I press?
Hold Right Ctrl + Right Shift, speak, release. Double-tap for hands-free. Esc cancels. That chord is unused by Windows and Chrome, so Left Ctrl shortcuts stay yours.
Does my voice leave the machine?
Not on the default path. Whisper transcribes on your PC and the temp audio is deleted. If you paste an xAI key into Settings, optional rewrite and translation go to xAI. Membership billing goes through Stripe. Details on the privacy page.
Windows says the app is unrecognized.
